Where do I stand?
See how your business looks to customers — and to the AI assistants they ask. What shows up, what's missing, what's out of date.
More of your customers ask ChatGPT and Google's AI who to call. I make simple tools that show how your business looks to them and exactly what to fix, and when a fix needs a pro, I'll connect you with someone I trust. No jargon. No retainer.

When owners admit they should be doing something with AI, the next words are almost always: "I don't know where to start, why it isn't working, or what to do better." Those are exactly the three questions VCB's tools and connections answer.
Where do I stand?
See how your business looks to customers — and to the AI assistants they ask. What shows up, what's missing, what's out of date.
Why isn't it working, and who can help?
Spot the broken links between your website, Google profile, listings and reviews. When a fix needs a pro, I'll connect you with someone I trust.
What do I do about it?
Get a plain-English fix list, quick wins first, that you or your web person can knock out — then watch the calls come in.
I'm just getting started, so the scorecard is free while I fine-tune it. Start there — you'll know in minutes whether it helps.
Enter your website and get a score plus specific, plain-English suggestions for that page — how you look to customers and to AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers.
Try it free →When a fix is bigger than a checklist (a new website, ads, local SEO), I'll introduce you to small firms I trust, sized to your business. No pressure. I may earn a referral fee from partners; it never changes who I recommend.
See how I choose partners →If the scorecard proves useful, I'll offer it under your name, so small agencies and freelancers can serve their own clients better.
Interested? Tell me →Customers find and choose businesses differently now. Here's what that means for a small business — and for how I help.
Most small businesses use AI to look things up — and miss that their customers now use it to decide who to call. You have to make sense to people and to the AI working for them.
A clean customer list and one trusted home for your business info come first. New tools on a messy foundation just make mistakes faster.
Let automation handle follow-ups, scheduling and first answers. Keep a real person on the moments that matter — a big quote, a refund, an upset customer.
As the internet fills up with AI filler, your real story, real photos and real customers are what set you apart — to people and to the AI that summarizes the web.
Use only what customers choose to share, be upfront when AI is involved, and never use what you know against them.
I'll show you what to fix and exactly how, in plain English — then get out of the way. No retainer, no black box.
Pop in your web address at sitescorecard.ai. It's free, and nobody's going to call you.
Find out how you show up to customers and to AI assistants — and where you're losing them.
Get specific, plain-English suggestions for your page. Do them yourself, hand them to your web person, or ask me for an intro to a pro.

Hi, I'm Chris. I grew up on a small family farm in a small town, and I've spent my career inside a big company leading digital products, marketing technology and, lately, AI.
I've watched AI become a real advantage for big companies. My worry is the businesses I grew up around — the plumbers, electricians, landscapers and agronomists who keep a town running — getting pushed aside because AI can't see them. It feels a lot like 1999, when the shops without a website got stuck in the Yellow Pages.
VCB Digital Outfitters is my way of helping small businesses stay relevant: simple, useful tools sized for a small-business budget, and connections to good people when you need a hand. Not consulting hours.
Off the clock, I'm with my family, out on a trail or sitting by a fire. I also volunteer with Farm Rescue, helping farm families get through a crisis.
Trails, coastlines and back roads. I do my best thinking outside — and I've learned the right view changes how you see everything else.

In 1999, the businesses without a website got left in the Yellow Pages. Today, it's the ones AI can't see.
Let's make sure that's not you. Check your business free →

Plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, landscapers, agronomists and other local, hands-on businesses, usually with fewer than 20 people. You don't need to be technical.
I match by what your report says you need and the size of your business, and I only name a firm publicly after they've agreed to be listed. I may earn a referral fee from partners; it never changes who I recommend.
